I do this because I love you. You should be able to hear what I am privileged to hear. Our market prevents you from hearing all of the wonderful music that is out there just waiting to be listened to (on a daily basis!) That’s just the way it is in the Midwest. It’s been that way for decades because it’s just a conservative market too afraid of change and new ideas. That’s why you hear the same old music being played over, and over again.
But, not for us. Luckily, there are a few of us that push and promote fresh, new music from the heart. When we worked for Billboard Magazine in the 1990’s with Dave K., a few of us bought all of the new music to Milwaukee via the cutting-edge nightclubs we worked at, Club Marilyn, La Cage, Club 219, The Factory, the list goes on. Every other week, Kimberly Ann and I took the train to Chicago to get our record pool products. Sometimes we just got a blank check and started shopping for import records, like Italian house, Euro and high energy stuff. Fun times!
A few of us still get to see and hear it all, and this is still only a fraction of what you actually get exposed to on the radio. There is a lot music out there that gets released daily. I offer you a place to get into the love of the music that I play. New and old, each and every song here has a meaning. You know what I mean. You feel it too. This is why I do what I do.
